~ I Watermarked ~

Hello Everyone,
I was so excited to learn how to watermark I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to
Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch.
 For her post on 8-25-2012
Gosh Susan, I hope I'm not stealing!
The post was full of information for a (not so techie) person like me.
 I purchased Visual Watermark for $20.00 at 2012-08-26  09:29:44.
This morning I downloaded the software and started to watermark my photos.
I've been wanting to watermark for awhile, but I didn't want the project to be too labor intensive.
I will be tweaking the font and learning more about the software later this week.
I had these photos of my roses and quickly used them for my experiment.
Thank you, Susan. For your great resource.

Thanks for visiting, and your comments are so wonderful. I have a great time playing with my blog and with my camera. Blogging has been a great hobby for me since I've retired. Love~Love~Love it.

~My French Country Kitchen~

Hello Everyone, I hope you had a great weekend? Last week I was busy with a big project.
And this is my story.
There was an Old Women who lived in a shoe in 1992.
Sweetheart and she remodeled their kitchen and bought a beautiful convection/microwave oven.
Over the years the microwave lost some power while reheating or melting liquids.
Finally in 2012 the microwave blew its fuse and the fan and light stopped working.
Now, I have a brand new microwave.
~Old Microwave~
Going to Microwave heaven

This is my brand new microwave
There is more to the story about the new microwave. On Tuesday, sweetheart and I bought the microwave. Wednesday, sweetheart, a friend and I installed it over the stove.  Good Job sweetheart!

When installing the NEW microwave I noticed some grease on the copper molds above the stove.
Oh my gosh!
Something must be done! I think we need to wash the Cabinets! Yes!
Thursday sweetheart went golfing
On Friday morning, sweetheart and I started washing the cabinets. I did the bottom cabinets and sweetheart did the top cabinets.
While washing the cabinets.  The counter and shelf was cleared off. I washed the tile on the counter,  and I washed my collection of L. E. Smith Canisters on the shelf

I have always loved copper molds and have been collecting them for years.
I was very fortunate to go to dinner at
 The French Laundry
owned by famous chef
Thomas Keller in Yountville, Ca
The clothespin was pinned to the napkin.
What a great experience!

I washed and washed and washed.

I love my roosters. The Rooster is the French Kitchen Icon. Read more about the Rooster Here
This white beauty is my dish towel holder. He has been next to my sink since 1975.

I decided to make a collage of the molds.  I have a few...

I have a new love. Cloches...Thank you Mary @  A Stroll thru Life I would have a cloche is every size and every shape.  Collecting is great fun and I love to change things around in My French Country Kitchen.

I found a copper chafing dish at a garage sale and scooped it up in a heartbeat.

A little vignette of my Rooster Tea Pot with a sugar and creamer sits on my small table, and  a small copper cup with a rose from the garden.

Now for the Crème de la Crème
My pillows add some french inspiration to my French Country Kitchen.

So much for my French...
The kitchen-dining room is large enough to entertain our family.  When the table is open it will seat 12 people. I have a red and white vinyl tablecloth on the table to protect the wood finish.  Since retirement, all sweetheart and I do is eat.  Three meals a day. I have the salt, pepper and napkins on the red Lazy Susan in the center of the table so I don't have to keep getting up every time we need something. I see the word Lazy!
On Saturday morning sweetheart mopped and waxed the floors.
My version of a French Country Kitchen is now clean for the holidays.
If your new here at My Cozy Corner or you are a follower you know I love to imagine I'm somewhere else. France would be nice. So how about some French Cuisine
Fig Galette
Our neighbor has a fig tree and gave me some figs. I love figs. Reminds me of the Mediterranean region.
A Galette is a type of french pastry that is made with a rich, flaky crust, and traditionally served at Epiphany 6 January each year.
I serve Fig Galette with triple vanilla ice cream and whipped cream in the evening for a late dessert.

Tablescape # 52 Lunch under the Old Pear Tree

Hi Everyone,
Summer is coming to an end in our garden. I have a few squash for dinner this week and then they will be finished.  The cucumber plants are dried up, but  I have enough for a one more batch of Gazpacho soup. The red rhubarb swiss chard is trying to hang on until the cool weather come and then it will freshen up again.
The last of the red, yellow and green bell peppers are getting a sun-burn everyday. And, the tomatoes are giving us one last crop. The garden is simple, and the veggies are for pickling and canning for the winter and for my favorite cold summer soup. Gazpacho is a popular cold soup in Spain. The Spanish include layers of toast or bread and that's one of the reasons I converted it into my version without the bread.
My tablescape reflects the love of fresh vegetables from the garden and the lovely shade of the
 Old Pear Tree.

The ripe tomatoes freshly picked from the garden make the centerpiece for this summer table.
Layers of linens are put on to contrast the elements of the place setting.
Green checked tablecloth has been around My Cozy Corner for a long....time.
The white top is the center pattern of a duvet I sewed to use as a small topper for a night stand.
The grapevine wreaths I bought at the DT. I love the Dollar Tree.

My white plates are my basic go-to plates for the ruffled look of the edges.
The green place mats and matching napkins were a gift long ago.
The cute vegetable plates are from. Yes, you guessed it. Tuesday Morning. Clearance!!!
The Flatware. Forks and spoons are from the GW  at  $4.00 dollars. When I got home and opened the container I discovered the knives were missing. I used my everyday steak knives to finish the setting.
The green glassed are vintage...Just like me. I found them at a thrift store in the 90's to use for a Sunday brunch I was having for the family.

The fresh bell peppers are from the garden. I picked them this morning.

Fun dishes for my Summer Lunch under the Old Pear Tree

Fabulous Fresh Red Tomatoes  give this table a refreshing country appeal.

Oh My Gosh I love fresh tomatoes.

I tried to pick the tomatoes with the stems attached. And, I can see the hair on the stem
and starting to crack from sun.

I love fresh bell peppers. The red and yellow peppers are so flavorful and mild tasting .

The white bowls I will use to serve the Gazpacho soup this afternoon.
I like the black carrier so much I think I will use the carrier in the house,
and put it on the counter as our  go-to bowls.

As always, I love to make a mosaic to capture the ambiance of the day.

Tablescape # 51 ~Button~Button~Who's Got the Button?

Hello everyone,
I'm always amazed when I have an  inspiration about a new a tablescape.
I found the most darling button napkin rings at Yes! Tuesday Morning. And, this tablescape is a result of 4 little button napkin rings.  The hunt was on!   Being a thrifty person . This tablescape was so much  fun to envision .  Looking at the colors of this tablescape today delight me. The golden tones remind me of a Tuscan countryside. My son took this photo of the Tuscan villa where he stayed enjoying the Italian countryside for a few days. Before going onto Rome for the rest of his vacation.

The moment I saw the Italian bottles at Tuesday Morning the theme for my table was becoming clear.
I will be using these wonderful bottles in other posts, so you will know the history of my Italian bottles.

The centerpiece is a reflection of my love for 'Graham Thomas' the golden yellow color.

The amber goblets are a GW find. They were .99cents each.

The adorable button napkin rings are placed on a clear button salad plate purchased at TM.
I bought 6 button plates for some extras when my family comes to dinner.

The button salad dish sits on a Tuscan colored plate bought at the .99 cent store

The dinner plate is called 'Contemporary Chateau' Hand painted Stoneware made in Japan.
The flatware is another GW purchase. I found only forks and knives, so I added my best everyday spoons  to the table setting.

Fun fabric place mats were on clearance, and the chocolate napkins I bought to use for last year's Thanksgiving Tablescape. HERE
The cutest button napkin rings. I see a DIY in the future.

The table top arrangement centerpiece and the accessories remind of fall. It will be here soon.
A few more outdoor tablescapes and tea party in the garden are the plans for the month of September.
At My Cozy Corner.

Well, we found out Who's Got the Button.
Me!

A friend of mine gave me this delightful serving dish.
I can imagine some wonderful chocolate desserts being served.

Outdoors is a great place to entertain.

Happy Tablescaping and Entertaining!
